Sugaring hair removal may seem new; however, it dates back to ancient civilizations in Egypt and Greece. Using a simple paste of sugar, lemon, and water, this traditional method requires no sticks or strips. With the hand (ball) technique, the sugar is applied against the direction of hair growth and removed in the natural direction, helping to extract hair from the root.

This process can lead to finer, slower regrowth over time and helps reduce ingrown hairs. In contrast, traditional waxing often removes hair against its natural growth pattern, which can cause breakage at the surface and increase the likelihood of irritation and ingrowns.
